Long-term conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, allergies, your regular medicines and what you've already been vaccinated against all shape what's suitable for you.
Malaria risk and bite avoidance
Whether your route carries malaria risk, how to reduce bites, and whether tablets should be considered. Antimalarials are Prescription Only Medicines and are only decided at the consultation.
Certificates and entry requirements
South London Clinic is a designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre — we provide the yellow fever vaccine and issue the ICVP certificate here.

What it isn't
- It isn't a GP appointment, and it isn't a diagnosis of any symptoms you currently have.
- It isn't a commitment — plenty of people leave with a plan and book the vaccines later.
- It doesn't include the vaccines themselves. Those are charged separately and only given after the assessment.

Talk it through with a pharmacist
You'll go through your destination, dates, itinerary, activities, health, medicines and vaccination history. Ask anything — this is what the appointment is for.
Leave with a plan
You'll get a clear written plan: what's recommended, what's optional, what you don't need, what each option costs, and the dates any course would need to start. If you want to go ahead, suitable vaccines can usually be given in the same visit.
What to bring
- Your travel dates and a rough itinerary — countries, regions, cities, any rural stops
- Any record of vaccines you've already had (childhood red book, GP printout, previous travel clinic card)
- A list of your regular medicines and any long-term conditions
- Details of what you'll be doing — trekking, diving, volunteering, working with animals, staying with family
- Your passport or travel documents if you think a certificate may be needed
Good to know
- The consultation is free whether or not you have any vaccines afterwards.
- There's no obligation — you can take the plan away and think about it.
- You don't need to be registered with us or see your GP first.
- Bring the whole family; tell us everyone's ages when you book.
- If your trip is soon, say so when you call — we'll tell you honestly what's still worth doing.

Yes. The travel health risk assessment with the pharmacist is free — there's no booking fee, no consultation fee and no charge for the plan you take away. The vaccines themselves are charged separately, and only if you decide to have them. The pharmacist confirms the price with you before anything is given.
Then you pay nothing. That happens fairly often — plenty of trips need nothing more than routine boosters you've already had, plus food, water and bite-avoidance advice. You'll still leave with a written plan and know where you stand.
No. You're welcome to take the plan away and think about it, compare prices, or check what your GP surgery can offer on the NHS. If you do want to go ahead, vaccines that are clinically appropriate can usually be given in the same visit, so you don't need a second trip.
Neither. The consultation is open to anyone — you don't need to be a pharmacy customer, you don't need to be registered with us, and you don't need a referral. Some travel vaccines are free on the NHS through GP surgeries. If something you need is one of those, we'll say so.
Ideally 6 to 8 weeks before you travel, which leaves room for courses that need more than one dose. If your trip is sooner, book anyway or call us. Several vaccines can be given closer to departure, and the pharmacist will be straight with you about what can and can't be completed in time.
