Some of it, some of the time. Your GP surgery can usually give a few travel vaccines on the NHS — typically hepatitis A, typhoid, cholera and tetanus/diphtheria/polio — while the rest are private wherever you have them. Many NHS practices no longer offer ear wax removal at all, and private blood tests, weight management appointments and men's health checks sit outside NHS services. If something is available to you free on the NHS, we'll tell you rather than sell it to you.

They'll explain why, tell you what to do instead, and you won't be charged for a treatment that doesn't go ahead. It's the price for that item. Where a vaccine needs a course of doses, the price shown is per dose, so a full course costs more than one dose — the pharmacist will add it up for you at your appointment so you know the total before you start. Price is confirmed before any treatment, test or vaccine goes ahead.
